Robert Van Reijn conducts market research and analyzes industry trends to develop strategies to expand the company's market presence.
With over a decade of experience across the ferro and non-ferrous metals markets, Robert is a recognized specialist in base and strategic metals trading. He began his career executing LME warrants alongside major London Metal Exchange ring members, gaining direct exposure to exchange mechanics, warehouse dynamics, and physical settlement processes before moving into dedicated non-ferrous trading.
Robert holds a Bachelor’s degree in Dutch Law from VU Amsterdam and a Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.) in Investments and Securities from Hogeschool van Amsterdam. This dual academic foundation equips him with a rare combination of legal structuring capability, financial analysis, and commercial execution — essential in today’s compliance-intensive and capital-constrained metals environment.
Since 2019, Robert has served as Business Development Executive at Steencore, where he leads the expansion of the company’s institutional client base and market footprint across Europe and the United Arab Emirates. He has developed deep market knowledge of the Middle East — particularly Dubai and the wider UAE — and maintains established relationships with large industrial groups, trading houses, and procurement institutions that source metals for downstream manufacturing and end-product fabrication. His regional expertise extends to regulatory frameworks, free-zone structures, logistics corridors, and structured commodity transactions.
At Steencore, Robert is a key member of the company’s distribution and trading platform. He plays a central role in originating supply chains, structuring offtake agreements, and aligning upstream production with downstream institutional demand. His work strengthens Steencore’s ability to bridge producers and Tier-1 industrial buyers within a disciplined, performance-driven trading framework.
In parallel with his role at Steencore, Robert owns and operates a non-ferrous recycling company, managing a granulation plant that converts post-consumer household cables into A1-grade copper granules supplied to two of Europe’s largest smelters. This operational experience provides him with direct insight into processing economics, quality control standards, ESG compliance, and physical logistics.
Robert’s deep industry knowledge, entrepreneurial execution capability, and extensive international network across Europe and the Middle East are instrumental in driving Steencore’s commercial expansion and reinforcing its position as a trusted, institutionally aligned partner in the global metals market.
