Conflict Minerals

Conflict Minerals & High-Risk Areas

The OECD defines conflict-affected and high-risk areas (CAHRAs) as regions characterised by armed conflict, systemic violence, political instability, institutional weakness, or widespread human rights abuses. These environments present elevated risks of financing armed groups, corruption, forced labour, and violations of national or international law through mineral extraction and trade.

Steencore applies a strict risk-based due diligence framework aligned with the OECD Due Diligence Guidance for Responsible Supply Chains of Minerals from Conflict-Affected and High-Risk Areas. This framework is embedded within our supplier onboarding, contractual controls, and ongoing monitoring processes.

We require suppliers to demonstrate traceability, transparency, and compliance with applicable conflict mineral regulations. Where material risk is identified, enhanced due diligence, mitigation measures, or disengagement procedures are implemented.

Further detail is available in our Conflict Minerals Policy (see linked document).
